How Cozy Pajamas Protect Our Family

To you this might look like another cute family photo. I attempted to create the perfectly staged picture showcasing our matching Hanna Andersson pajamas. But if you’re a new family of five, you know the perfect photo is impossible. At least one child or adult is blinking. The only way to get the two-year old to sit still is by bribing with fruit snacks.

So here is my imperfectly perfect family. I’m sharing this to say that I am not the mother I thought I’d be five years ago. I didn’t expect myself to accept being surrounded by messy tornadoes. Motherhood stripped me of my need to be in control all the time. It’s taught me to let go of the little things.

That’s why I’ve partnered with OEKO-TEX® and Hanna Andersson, to show parents the little things they can focus on that make lasting impacts on our families and our world.

Have you seen OEKO-TEX® labels on your clothes before?

I am the first to admit, I’ve seen it but didn’t know what it meant.

OEKO-TEX® independently tests textiles and home goods for harmful substances that are toxic to humans. When items receive the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, you know you’re purchasing the safest products for your family. This certification means every thread, button and accessory is rigorously tested and found safe from harmful levels of more than 350 harsh substances.

The more I learn about the OEKO-TEX® standards, the more conscious I want to be about the items I bring into my house.

We hear much about toxins from ingesting chemicals but how often do we consider chemicals absorbed through the clothes we wear? I believe, the more we know, the more chances we can take to make better choices.

When it comes to clothing like pajamas for my kids, I will look for the OEKO-TEX® labels. If my family spends so many hours in bed, they may as well be in clothes or on bedding that is tested for toxins.

To learn more, check out the OEKO-TEX® label check tool, which allows you to double check your product has been certified safe for you and your family by easily entering the number on the label.

This is a paid partnership with OEKO-TEX®
