Recently Read Books this Year (Part 2)

First, follow me on Goodreads for my full reviews. My ratings below are out of 5 stars. This is a list of the books I’ve read from May through July. I either read hardcopies, with my Kindle or listen to the audiobook version.

May

Just Haven’t Met You Yet— Sophie Cousens // 5 stars

This book gave me all the feels. At times I caught myself laughing out loud. Then at others, I felt introspective. There were predictable elements, however, they worked. I didn’t mind the “I saw that coming” moments. I enjoyed Laura’s character development and love connections. I will think of this book often. I definitely recommend it.

Get A Life, Chloe Brown —Talia Hibbert // 3 stars *audiobook

Without Merit — Colleen Hoover // 3.75 stars

This book brought me back to my teenage angst. It’s a quick read and very YA. I enjoyed it but prefer CoHo’s more mature characters/books.

Last Summer At The Golden Hotel — Elyssa Friedland // 4 stars *audiobook

June

The No-Show — Beth O’Leary // 4 stars

Take a Hint, Dani Brown — Talia Hibbert // 2.5 stars *audiobook

Educated — Tara Westover // 4 stars (bookclub) *audiobook

White Teeth — Zadie Smith // 3 stars (bookclub)

Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead — Elle Cosimano // 4 stars

I liked this more than the first book in the series. I think it’s because I finally “bought in to” Finlay’s character. I enjoyed the dark humor and tension between the love interest. I can’t wait for the third book to come out next year!

It Happened One Summer —Tessa Bailey // 4 stars

Steamy as a good ol’ crab boil. ❤️🥵🌶

First Love, Take Two — Sajni Patel // 3 stars *audiobook

July

Just Last Night — Mhairi McFarlane // 5 stars

Mhairi might be one of my favorite authors. Too much too say in fear of giving the goodness of this book away. Add this to your TBR pile.

Daisy Jones and The Six — Taylor Jenkins Reid // 5 stars *audiobook was fantastic

Finding Me — Viola Davis // 5 stars *audiobook

Crazy Rich Asians — Kevin Kwan // 3.88 stars *audiobook

Remarkably Bright Creatures — Shelby Van Pelt // (bookclub)
