Happy Loving Day

June 12th is a special day that I don't think most people notice.

It's the day that it became legal for a girl like me to marry a guy like Ryan.

54 years ago, the Supreme Court made the decision to strike down laws in 16 states prohibiting interracial marriage.

The case was Loving v. Virginia.

54 years wasn't that long ago. My parents were alive. My grandparents lived in the midst of this. I'm only 2 generations removed from that monumental day.

June 12th, we celebrate the courage of the Lovings.
