Postpartum Journey: Round 2
I told myself I’d be kinder this time around, post-baby.
I would be more patient with my progress. I would show myself grace for the things I leave undone.
Let’s be real: my husband deployed when Austin was 10 days old. Trying to get back in shape should be at the bottom of the list of to do’s...right?
But I’m human. I want this process to be easier. I want this to be faster.
I want to tone my stomach. I want to lose 15 more lbs. I want to wear pants that don’t feel tight or dig into my soft stomach.
I want to do a burpee without modifying. I want to do crunches without damaging my diastasis recti.
I want to feel strong like I was before I got pregnant. I want strong abs again.
Know that if you are on a postpartum journey too, it’s okay to be frustrated with your progress.
Just don’t quit.
From my experience, this time of frustration is your turning point. You can choose to stop or to dig deeper.
Change is coming. This journey isn’t meant to be fast. If it were easy, it wouldn’t be worth having.
