The Magic of 3 in Practice

I am often asked, how I run my days with my kids. Here’s my answer:⁣

For my sanity, I focus on doing 3 things. It’s a technique I’ve been doing ever since my first was born. I just choose to complete 3 things off my to-do list. ⁣

For example, 1. Fold laundry 2. Workout 3. Drop off water bill. ⁣

I try not to chase “more to do” because then I’m left dissatisfied with myself. ⁣

Every night, I open my planner and write out the schedule for the next day around those “3 must do things.” ⁣

I allow screen time, I’m trying to implement more “independent play” and I aim for physical activity/outdoor play each day. ⁣

The key with a schedule is using it as a guide, instead of a concrete plan. When kids are involved, flexibility is essential. ⁣

No day looks the same at my house because my day is dependent on the moods of three individuals (myself included). ⁣
